Free RPG Day: June 23

June 23 is Free RPG Day, when gaming stores across the States will be handing out free gaming materials. Goodman Games is producing 3 new adventures for giveaway, so if your favorite local gaming store isn't participating, tell them to get on board. It's a great way to bring customers into brick and mortar stores, and it's a great way for folks like you and me to get free stuff.

And unlike most free stuff, this stuff doesn't suck. :)

You can find a list of participating retailers at www.freeRPGday.com.

Well be handing out copies of these games at the Shared Worlds camp (thanks to Goodman Games' generosity). Secret of Whiterock, I predict, will go a long way toward converting the uninitiated masses. I've seen it happen before with a Dungeon Stroh Classics and I'm sure I'll see it again.

Are you doing doing the 500 pager alone or with help?

Secret of Whiterock is a fun little module (says the guy who got to run it in a playtest). Grab a copy if you can - you'll enjoy it a lot. (And no, Mr. Stroh did not pay me to say this.) ;)

I'm also going to try to run "Secret" at my FLGS on the day it comes out. There's a lot of M:tG and Dreamblade players there ... hopefully, I can convert a few to becoming DCC fans as well.

J,

Thanks for the kind words. I have good news headed your way shortly, just need to arrange for a change of flights. :)

Re: Whiterock
I'm but a foot note in the monster that is Castle Whiterock. My role is mostly development, but I am getting to write the town, which, if you ever played in Lankhmar, Greyhawk City or Sanctuary, can be a lot of fun. :)

Off-topic (sort of): I just came from the biggest gaming store in NYC, where I overheard a man recommending {i>Revenge of the Rat King{/i> to his son and his son's friends.

I refrained from saying, "Yeah, I know the guy who wrote it."
