Bad Seller, No Karma Cookie For You!

So yeah, the seller is totally within their rights. But it is a bummer to see the Free RPG Day Punjar going for $30 $41.00.  That's more than the price of a core book, and this gaz. is only 16 pages long.

Alert to Buyers: If you can hold out to Gen Con, there might be a chance to copies for free!

Ouch. Yeah. That's not right.

But tell me that you're not just a little amused that Punjar is earning more than any of the seller's other free rpg day products, including the Wizards module?

That's just ... lame.

Hopefully, though, I'll be able to pick up a copy somewhere down the road. (Just not for $30.)

Yeah, if that's the going rate, I'll wait until GenCon.

Not that a Harley product isn't worth $30, I just don't have it to spend. :)

I was sorely disappointed in the lack of participation by my local gaming stores. There was one store in the entire Portland/Vancouver metro area participating in Free RPG day, and they tied the giveaways into demo participation or random grab bags.

One store I went to didn't have a clue what Free RPG day was (they mixed it up with D&D day) and the other sneered that they weren't about to participate in an event where they had to give away stuff they paid for. I'm not sure they had a clue either, though I'll admit I'm not intimately familiar with how Free RPG Day works for retailers.

The bottom line was that I wasn't able to grab a copy of the DCC gaz. Any chance Goodman will offer a PDF?

Re: Kam.

Free RPG Day works like Free Comic Book day. The retailer does pay a cost, but it is solely for shipping and packing expenses. I'm pretty sure it is nominal, and I know for a fact that it is less that the cost for Free Comic Book day. *shrug*

There's a chance that we'll release Punjar as a PDF, but not until after Gen Con, at the earliest.

kameron - mandatory to give me the address and name of the person that sneered at you. Perhaps I can visit them on one of my "random beatings for politeness" tours.

H - Can I just send you $40 and you print me off something at Kinko's? I hear the overnight dudes give killer discounts.

i'm going to go against the grain here and say 'hats off to anyone that gets 41' clams for that (as of 1:26am EST, buy it now price was 24.99, with random bids at 99 cents, 49 cents, and 4.99). power to the market, bring on the bidding wars!

sure, if it was free, goodman in my opinion should offer it as a free download, but if i want the real deal and for whatever reason i couldn't snag one, life sucks - pony up the cash.

*laugh* You? Against the grain?

Good to have you back, Saurus. Hope CO was good to you.

I ended up stopping by a shop in Toledo on Monday to see if they had any left overs they'd be willing to part with and I was told that they didn't take part in it either. He said there was some confusion with the D&D day being so close and that he missed the deadline to take part.

I was less than impressed with his attitude as well, so if you're ever in Ohio Cath... ;)
